    Thread for bugs on the site.

    Here’s one: The introduction has only a single unencrypted text, yet the leaderboard page has places for Introduction A and Introduction B.

    Nice catch, Madness. Have passed it on to 10Degrees to fix.

    Thanks,

    Harry

    For what it is worth some of the posters have the incorrect year appended to it’s PNG file name (I suspect Harry is still trying to build on these pages)
    I notice he is using different titles to the ones that were used at the time of the competitions. It’s looking good though.

    Thanks The-Letter-Wriggler, as you say we are still moving in. If you feel like pointing out any errors you spot, that will make life easier for the painters and decorators. (I would have said Removers, but they have a very different function in BOSS, and we wouldn’t want them involved.)

    @The-letter-wriggler
    Please post the titles that are different. Thank you.

    @Madness and @Harry
    Just two are needing correction.

    Poster-2011.PNG with hyphen is correct for Tempest but…
    [BOSS2012] The Harksmoor Inheritance > Poster2011.PNG
    (should be Poster-2012.PNG)
    also…
    [BOSS2002] The Encryption Engine >CC2012PosterThumbnail-150×150.PNG
    (should be Poster-2002Thumbnail-150×150.PNG)

    Posters Extra Info…
    >[BOSS2012] The Harksmoor Inheritance
    BOSS CASE FILE ARCHIVE (it’s wrong here) > Poster2011.PNG
    THE HISTORY OF BOSS (it’s ok here) > Poster=2012.PNG

    >[BOSS2002] The Encryption Engine
    BOSS CASE FILE ARCHIVE (it’s wrong here) >CC2012PosterThumbnail-150×150.PNG
    THE HISTORY OF BOSS (it’s wrong here) >CC2012PosterThumbnail-150×150.PNG

    You said: I notice he is using different titles to the ones that were used at the time of the competitions. It’s looking good though.

    I thought you meant titles like “The Mona Lisa Mystery” and such. Are they all correct?

    @Madness
    If Harry wants to leave them with new titles then they are all correct as such.

    In the BOSS CASE FILE ARCHIVE
    The titles he has made different are:

    BOSS2013 The Mona Lisa Mystery formally A Tale of Two Ghettos
    BOSS2008 The General Attack formally Wellington vs Napoleon
    BOSS2005 The Lomonosov Ridge formally Mission R7
    BOSS2006 The Marlowe Diaries formally Nelson vs French Navy
    BOSS2003 The Babylon Stone formally Agatha Highfield’s Journal
    BOSS2002 The Encryption Engine formally The Turning Machine

    Would you like to confirm this Harry?

    I think those are correct. Certainly Agatha Highfield’s Journal and The Turning Engine are, though the posters didn’t carry them. The others were definitely more in the nature of working titles.

    I know this is a very minor issue like not even a bug but when I am on the home page it still says “National Cipher challenge 2019” not 2020 in the tab heading and when you hover over it.

    Thanks Hen13ry, good catch. Nice name too, Tom Lehrer fan by any chance?

    Error in registration might be that cipherchallenge and Tor browser do not play well together.

    Could you email us with some details of the problem so we can investigate?

    Thanks, Harry

    So the certificates are for…

    National Cipher Challenge 2019
    COUNTDOWN TO CATASTROPHE

    I guess there was not time to make new ones for this challenge.
    Spoils it somewhat for new recruits.
